What Should A Woman Wear To A Golf Tournament?

I’m going to a golf tournament at a high end country club in the Palm Springs, California area. I expect the weather to be about 110 degrees. Yikes!
I want to be comfortable, but also look polished. Would it be taboo to wear a casual skirt or dress?
Thanks for the advice… .I’ve never even set foot on a golf course before this!

If you still have time to shop, I would go since you will almost definitely look out of place in a casual skirt or dress. Most of the women I see on the golf course wear stuff similar to what the guys wear; polo shirts, khaki shorts or those skirt things with the shorts underneath them. If you have the money and want to fit in, then head out to a golf shop. But you could always come up with someone if you don’t have the time to go wrangle up a new outfit.
Also, google some ladies golf images to get a better idea.

a little khaki skirt or some pressed shorts would be nice. Then maybe a sleeveless button up shirt with some sort of collar. Look nice but not to reavling.

The last one I went to, I saw a variation of women wearing everything from polos with khaki shorts or skirts, alot of which I assumed to be the popular “skort”. Some wore sundresses, but were on the fancy side. I even saw a few people wearing jeans! They looked pretty out of place too! :P So, I’d suggest a polo w/khaki shorts ( maybe those cute bermuda shorts that are SO in style right now?? ) The look is very casual/preppy. Good luck ~ and HAVE FUN!!

just wear what you think is nice. no need to impress the hoity toity big wigs.
but definitely wear some sort of capri pants or shorts and something sleeveless after all you dont want to be dressed in something thats gonna broil you!
yes a casual skirt is fine as long as its not too short remember golf courses still have dress codes.
just look online at some of todays golfers michelle wie, natalie gulbis, christina kim, anika sorenstam(spell check?)
im sure you will find plenty of ideas. there are also golf magazines for women that offer alot of clothes and ideas of what to wear.
but comfort is over everything else. remember you gotta swing the club still. if its not comfortable how can you swing if it feels so strange on you?
    hope this helped a little

When I used to play Golf, you wear proper golf Attire. Question is Are you playing in this tournament for a charity event OR are you in the sidelines watching the event???
Lets suppose that you are attending a charity event and watching the game in the sidelines. I will bring a pair of nice shades, a very cute/elegant tote bag because you’ll need to carry sunscreen a bottle of water, and other things. Do wear a hat though, to avoid a heat stroke.
Go to the newportnews website and they have nice clothes and totes, shoes hats for the event, I mean everything you would need. Have Fun !! ;) PS Since its going to be HOT, I suggest wearing really cute cute capris. Again the website I gave ya has a bunch of nice outfits.

Having caddied at one of America’s wealthiest golf clubs, wear some shorts (not too short, respectable length), caprie’s, or a “skort”
Pick out a hot high end golf shirt at a premier golf or proshop)
Golf shoes with softspikes, a cute visor, and a new glove.

Dresses and heeled evening shoes are definitely out of the question.
You should chose an outfit that is more sporting and can bring the best out of your physical appearance. Maybe a branded polo t, a short mini sports skirt, a nice cap, a pair of top range sunglasses and a pair of snickers.
Women always look great in this outfit.
