Is It Ok To Mount A Lcd Tv Above An Aquarium?

I have a 42″ lcd tv and I am getting ready to set up a 55 gallon saltwater aquarium. I am thinking of mounting the tv on the wall and setting up the tank below the tv. I am just wondering if anyone has done this and what results did you have? Is evaporation a problem for the tv? I am open to any ideas/comments on the topic….thanks!!!

I really wouldn’t. Even with a canopy top, your water will evaporate and rise into the tv. Over time, it’ll just bust or something and I’m sure there are ways for retailers to check whether the tv broke due to water damage or not. I know they do with phones :P

I haven’t done this but it just sounds like one of those situations that’s just waiting to go bad. Also depends on the filters you use. I know mine spalsh a lot some days, and get me even a foot away. Not much but still..

I don’t have any info about filters but I know that a big electrical appliance balanced on a water-filled glass case probably isn’t such a great idea =)
You don’t want to risk a smashed tv and dead fish right?

It doesn’t look like a good combination… electricity and water. I think you have to make sure the aquarium is positioned far enough from the TV.
