How To Choose Lawyer ?

My boyfriend in the US is going to look for an immagration lawyer. ( We are planning on applying for a K1 knowing that I overstaed a WVP)
Assuming there are all good at what they do. I would like to know how to choose a lawyer that could help us with my case.
What should I expect money wise ? How much cost a decent Lawyer ?

Do you know that it might be illegal to drive and talk on the phone in your state? Check out a new bluetooth headset to avoid an unfortunate situation!

Actually, they are not all good at what they do. And prices vary from region to region. The best way to find a good immigration attorney is to ask other people. Call immigrant centers (but be sure they know you are looking for quality, not free help), ask other people who have used an immigration attorney with good outcome, & one thing that has worked for me in the past is to call other attorneys (or their office) and ask them who they recommend (other than themselves). Let them know that you are searching and that you will be using them if others recommend them. Also attorneys who deal in other things can often point you to who is considered “the best” in other specialties. Since you are not in deportation at this time, and I am not sure if you are even in the US now, my guess on cost is somewhere in the $1500- $3000 range (not including immigration fees.) A good attorney should offer a consultation and fees list before you get into the nitty-gritty, which runs from about $60- $200. Cheap doesn’t mean bad, nor does expensive mean good with attorneys, especially in immigration where unhappy customers are not around to complain.
