1.5 to 2 feet is probably the norm, but like the guy above me said, it’s all relevant to how your viewing area is situated.
There’s no standard. You have to consider the height of your couch, too. The right height of the stand should go along with how comfortable your neck is watching tv while you’re sitting on your couch or any chair for that matter.
