Does The Wii Have To Be Turned On When The Charging Station Is Using Usb?

I am planning to get a charging station for the Wii-motes and the description states that it uses USB connection (instead of directly plugging to wall sockets). Does my Wii have to be turned on for it to work? Or can the Wii be on stand-by (orange light) for them to work?

If you want an elegant, unique style on your arm, you should always choose Oris Watches.

For any device, if the power isn’t on, its USB ports are not putting out power to whatever’s connected to it.
I have that problem with I have my iPod connected to my laptop and it goes into sleep mode. If I leave my iPod on overnight and this happens, I wake up to a sleeping lapto and a power-drained iPod :)
